The plan is the editor where you lay out a floor or a unit with walls, rooms and items. Drawing in the plan works the same way as in Atrium's other editors, with a few keys and rules specific to walls.
More of the plan module is on the way. See the Plan page on the Atrium website for details.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tab | Switch which side of the line you're drawing the wall falls on |
| F8 or the Ortho pill | Turn Ortho on or off |
| Hold Shift | Temporarily invert Ortho |
| Tap Shift | Lock the direction |
Walls, partitions, dimensions, divider lines and item shapes all use the same keys as Drawing and point input, and a point is placed when you release the click.
x,y is measured from the plan origin, with y pointing up on screen.| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| → (right arrow) | Lock horizontal |
| ← (left arrow) | Lock vertical |
| ↓ (down arrow) | Lock parallel to the line or wall under the pointer |
| Tap Shift | Lock to the current direction |
In the plan, a direction lock shows as a purple dotted line.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enter, Space, right-click or click again near the last point | Finish. These keys also complete anything in progress: the first click of a dimension, a divider line, or an item or copy that's ready to place. |
| Backspace | Removes the last wall segment, just like an undo step (except that it doesn't go onto the redo stack, and the previous selection comes back). It also takes back the first click of a dimension or divider line. |
| Esc | The first press clears only the typed number or the lock. The second press ends the command and keeps everything you've drawn. |
Click the walls around a space and press Enter to create a room.
Selection in the plan follows the same rules as Selection, with these differences:
Elevators, stairs, columns and freestanding objects square up to a wall and stick to it when they're close to it (about 27 pixels).
Columns and freestanding walls take their height from the ceiling height only when they're created. After that, the height is their own and doesn't change when the ceiling does.
An item that needs dimensions (such as a window or a closet) opens a small panel next to it. Click ✓, or press Enter or Esc, to finish. Continuing to work in the plan also closes the panel.
Select an item to show its badges:
Skirting height and thickness are in the options bar below the toolbar. If you change them, the new values apply to the walls you draw next.
Plan messages stay on screen for 4.5 seconds, and error messages for 6 seconds.
